I’m beginning to sound like those ads for Christmas shopping. “You’ve only got 16 more shopping days.” I think it’s important we organize ourselves and focus on what we can accomplish next year, but continue to write now. Don’t wait, work on your goals now, so you’ll be prepared in 2006.
I’m taking a Feng Shui class through Passionate Ink. I mentioned it before. It’s taught by Bella Andre. I’ve got to tell you, the class is great! My critique partners are no clutter women, me it isn’t clutter unless I have to step very high over it. But thanks to Bella, our class has been experimenting with organizing our space to get control and be productive. I’ve moved my desk, sorted through three piles of papers, filed the important ones, thrown away the useless ones, and found coupons for Bed, Bath and Beyond. I’ve still got about a day and a half of cleaning to do, but Bella stresses that we should take our time, see what works for us. I’ve got editing to do, so I’m multi tasking, and those darn Christmas decorations need to go up this weekend.
Have a writing good day!

It Came Back To Me! Well, while listening to my son’s guitar lesson, I closed my eyes, and whoa, the scene I was working on came back to me. Yes, I did have a pen and my notebook. Wrote it down this time. An additional idea came when I finally went to bed, pen and paper are in the top drawer of my night stand. I’ll keep it in the drawer because ‘others’ may feel the need to borrow.
I need a SciFi fix. Thank Goodness, January 6th all of my favorite programs return. Stargate SG-1, the addition of Claudia Black is great. Stargate Atlantis, ok, great cast but I’m getting tired of the Wraith. Then there’s the Big Daddy of them all, Battlestar Galatcia. Outstanding program! Love the cast, love the characters, love the plot. Helo is hot and Apollo is buff and sexy. Starbuck, she can protect my ass any day.
Have you checked out my Favorite Article Page? Comments would be appreciated. Have a writing day!

Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad. One of the suggestions for writers is to have paper and pen always at the ready. In your purse, your pocket, at your bedside. I now have paper and pen next to my bed, because last night I came up with a very good way to work a scene, dialogue included. I should have gotten out of my bed, I should have written it on the damn bedroom wall, I should have used one of the many tubes of lipstick I possess ( marvelous colors by Bobbie Brown and Mac) and written it on the bathroom mirror. I did none of those things. I decided to rely on my great memory. Yes, the awesome memory that works so well. When I go upstairs, come back down and can’t remember why I went up in the first place. The great memory that when I go to play tennis, not at the club two seconds from my home, but thirty minutes away, park and remember I forgot my tennis shoes. I consoled myself with, “If the scene was that great, it will come back to you.” Sort of, “If you build it, they will come.” Insert loud snort here. When you meet me, if there are writings on my wrists and arms, don’t be alarmed, it’ll be because I forgot paper and needed something to write on. If we sitting down to eat, don’t be afraid if I ask you for paper, you don’t have any, and I start writing on the tablecloth. If you are my friend and a writer, you will stake out your share of the tablecloth and start writing your own notes.

Ok, technology is a wonderful thing. Computers, the internet, allow us to express ourselves, buy online without leaving the house, make friends, learn and explore. Then there are days, when Hal 2000 takes over and we have no control. Apparently there were some ‘gremlins’ in the system yesterday, so posting was an issue. Not only that, my computer is not playing well with my high speed internet connection. Oh well, I started reading a new book and settled down. I’m taking an online Feng Shui class sponsored by Passionate Ink, and enjoying it. The class is taught by Bella Andre, an author with Pocket and Ellora’s Cave. She has been a Feng Shui consultant for five years and her book, “Take Me”, published by Pocket, came out in November. Thanks Bella, so far today, I moved my desk so I can see out the window and the door to encourage energy flow. Beth, one of my awesome critique partners, commented on the first scene in chapter four of my book and had very few comments. I take that as a compliment to her teaching about point of view, flow and COMMAS!! Now I’m waiting on Sloane for comments. I’m working on the rest of the chapter today. Don’t forget, Wednesday, I’m posting a new Favorite Article/Book. It’s from Writer’s Digest, December 2005 issue.
